BACK
Description
Turning back, rewind, deconstruct, go backwards, invert, look from the other side.
Bodies are the fundamental part of this work where physicality and poetic images are joined together with the stage. There is a clean and elegant performance space which introduces us to a hypnotic world and changing universe through the use of restraining lighting, both limiting and enlarging the dance floor. Six interpreters who transform the space with their energy, making it ever-changing and calm. Back comes from a fragmented body, which hobbles and links until reaching the fluency of the wave of the dancers.
Back is a regression to the body, to the simplicity, the purity of the movement into the stage.
Talented Canadian-born cellist and composer Zoë Keating composed the sound score. She has performed in other works such as “Llebeig”, created for the BTGV (Ballet de Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana) and Lost & Found, video art filmed in CCC L’Escorxador d’Elx. Her music takes the audience through delicate atmospheres, passionate rhythmic moments and continuously provocative patterns.
The luminous stage is created by Juanjo Llorens, who through the choreographic eye of Asun Noales, has developed an impeccable work, subtle and non-conventional.
