PROMETHEUS

DESCRIPTION

PROMETHEUS is a co-production between Les Arts, Dansa València, Instituto Valenciano de Cultura, Auditorio de Tenerife, Centro de Danza Matadero, and OtraDanza.

This creation sweeps the audience into an ancient, mythical universe — a visceral realm where imagination meets raw instinct and the stage becomes a living force. It is a work of rich, layered storytelling, where meaning unfolds through gesture, tension, and presence. Conceived by Asun Noales, it invites us to travel back 2,500 years in order to see ourselves anew — a journey through the timeless echoes of art and humanity.

Designed for seven distinct and striking dancers, PROMETHEUS guides us through the mythology of creation — from the realm of the gods to the fragile beginnings of humankind and its unending transformation. Themes of devotion, power, fragility, manipulation, and forgiveness flow through this intense, poetic, and profoundly political work. Layer by layer, the dramaturgy — shaped and deepened by Luis Crespo and Asun Noales — unfolds within an arresting soundscape composed by double bassist Jorge da Rocha and heightened by the haunting voice of Elenie Wagner. The scenography is designed by Luis Crespo, costumes by Victoriano Simón, and lighting by Olga García.  A work that speaks to the senses, the body, and the spirit.
